Wanna be a Judge?

Here at Post of the Week, the last thing we want to be is a closed clique. Although the site is maintained by a permanent editorial team, we are always on the lookout for new volunteers.

There are three ways in which you can get involved.

Guest judge.

This is the easiest level of involvement, as it’s a one-off job only.

All you have to do is read the end-of-week shortlist - which appears on Saturdays, and contains between 6 and 12 posts - and vote for your favourite five posts by the end of the weekend.

Permanent judge.

A permanent judge does the same job as a guest judge, but on a regular rota. Hopefully this should be no more than once a month, and maybe even less.

Team member.

As a member of our editorial team, you will be asked to assemble the week’s shortlist on a rota basis. This involves reading all the nominations as they come through during the week, and publishing a shortlist of between 6 and 12 posts on Saturday mornings. You will only need to do this once every two or three months.

You will also be involved with the weekend judging process, probably once a month or so.

To be a team member, you will need to understand some of the basics of blogging and simple HTML. However, you don’t need to be a technical whizz, and full instructions will be provided.

We are currently urgently looking for new Team Members as sadly a few of us are off for a bit - please fill in the form!
